When do TOEIC results come out in Japan?

For the Japanese TOEIC Listening & Reading Public Test, IIBC publishes this normal timeline:

• 17 days after the test: score displayed online
• 19 days after the test: digital Official Score Certificate issued
• Within 30 days: paper Official Score Certificate mailed if you selected paper issuance when applying

Japanese and US public holidays can delay the schedule. Use IIBC's date table for your exact test rather than relying only on the general day count.

How to check a TOEIC result online

1. Open the official TOEIC application site used for your Public Test booking.
2. Sign in with the account connected to that booking.
3. Open the test-results area after IIBC's display date begins.
4. Check the Listening, Reading, and total scores, then open the digital certificate when it is issued.

If the expected result is missing, verify the exact IIBC schedule and the account used for registration before contacting the test operator.

Public Test and TOEIC IP results are different

The 17-day online schedule above is for Japan's TOEIC L&R Public Test. A school or employer administering a TOEIC Institutional Program (IP) test controls the delivery process and result communication. Ask that organisation for its schedule instead of applying the Public Test dates.

Paper Official Score Certificates became opt-in

IIBC states that for TOEIC L&R Public Tests from April 2025, a paper Official Score Certificate is mailed only to individual applicants who selected that option during registration. Group-bulk applicants are handled under IIBC's stated group process.

If you selected paper issuance and it has not arrived 35 days after the test, use IIBC's non-arrival guidance. Do not wait until an application deadline to investigate.

What to do after your TOEIC score appears

• Save the digital certificate where you can retrieve it for applications.
• Check whether the receiving school or employer accepts a digital submission or requires a designated score-verification process.
• Use the section scores to choose your next practice focus: Listening or Reading.
• Confirm any age limit imposed by the receiving organisation. IIBC's score-submission services and each employer or school can have separate rules.
