PTE Academic reports one overall score and four communicative-skill scores from 10 to 90. The overall score is not an average of Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. Integrated tasks can contribute evidence to more than one skill.
Current preparation should include the newer Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation speaking tasks as well as established task families such as Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Summarize Written Text, Write Essay, Fill in the Blanks, and Write from Dictation.
Task mix and timing are controlled by Pearson. Verify the current Test Taker Handbook and Score Guide before your test date.

Do not choose a target only from a generic PTE score chart. Universities can require both an overall score and communicative-skill minimums. Australian visa thresholds depend on the visa category and, for some tables, whether the test was taken before or after 7 August 2025.
