Pergunta: Some people believe that the rise in crime among young people is due to the lack of parental supervision. Others argue that the media, such as video games and movies, is responsible. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Exemplo de Resposta Band 6.0
Resposta: The problem of young people committing crimes is very big. Some think parents are to blame because they don’t watch their children. Others say the media is the problem because it shows violence. I think both are important.
Parents today are very busy and don’t have time to take care of their kids. They work a lot and the children are alone. When parents don’t watch their children, they can do bad things. For example, in Brazil, many young people steal because they don’t have good examples at home.
But the media is also a big problem. Video games and movies show a lot of violence. Young people see this and think it is normal to be violent. In the USA, many studies show that kids who play violent games are more likely to commit crimes.
In conclusion, both parents and the media have a big role. Parents need to spend more time with their children. The government should also control what is shown on TV and in movies.

Resposta: The escalation of criminal activities among adolescents has become a pressing issue. While some attribute this phenomenon to the lack of parental guidance, others contend that the media bears significant responsibility. Both perspectives merit exploration, and I tend to lean towards the latter.
On one hand, the absence of parental supervision can indeed contribute to juvenile delinquency. In many urban areas, both parents often work long hours, leaving their children unsupervised. Without proper guidance, young individuals may succumb to peer pressure or engage in criminal behavior. For instance, a study by the British Journal of Criminology revealed that teenagers from single-parent households are more likely to engage in antisocial activities.
Conversely, the media’s portrayal of violence and crime can desensitize young minds. Video games, movies, and television shows frequently glorify violent behavior, which can influence impressionable youths. Research conducted by the American Psychological Association suggests that exposure to violent media can increase aggressive tendencies in adolescents.
In my opinion, while parental involvement is crucial, the media’s role in perpetuating violent behavior cannot be overlooked. Stricter regulations on media content and increased parental awareness are essential to mitigating this issue.

Resposta: The surge in juvenile crime has sparked a contentious debate regarding its root causes. While some proponents argue that the erosion of parental oversight is the primary culprit, others posit that the media’s pervasive influence is the chief catalyst. This essay will delve into both perspectives before advocating for a balanced approach.
Proponents of the parental negligence thesis contend that the modern familial structure, characterized by dual-income households and single parenting, has left many adolescents without adequate supervision. Consequently, these youths may gravitate towards delinquent peers or engage in criminal activities as a means of rebellion. Empirical data from the Office for National Statistics in the UK corroborates this assertion, revealing a 30% increase in youth crime rates in households where parents are frequently absent.
Conversely, the media’s role in perpetuating violent behavior cannot be underestimated. The proliferation of graphic content in video games, films, and television shows has been linked to increased aggressive behavior among adolescents. A seminal study by the American Academy of Pediatrics found that children exposed to violent media are twice as likely to exhibit antisocial behavior.
In my view, a multifaceted approach is essential. Parents must prioritize quality time with their children, while regulatory bodies should enforce stricter guidelines on media content. Additionally, community programs aimed at fostering positive youth engagement can serve as a prophylactic measure against juvenile delinquency.

Resposta: The recent upsurge in juvenile crime has ignited a fervent discourse on its etiological factors. While some advocates assert that the deterioration of parental oversight is the principal cause, others contend that the media’s insidious influence is the primary instigator. This essay will meticulously examine both viewpoints before advocating for a holistic solution.
Proponents of the parental negligence thesis argue that the contemporary familial paradigm, marked by the ubiquity of dual-income households and single parenting, has left many adolescents bereft of adequate guidance. Consequently, these youths may succumb to the allure of delinquent peers or engage in criminal activities as a form of escapism. Statistical data from the National Institute of Justice in the USA underscores this assertion, indicating a 40% increase in youth crime rates in households where parental involvement is minimal.
Conversely, the media’s role in fomenting violent behavior is incontrovertible. The ubiquity of graphic content in video games, films, and television shows has been empirically linked to increased aggressive behavior among adolescents. A groundbreaking study by the World Health Organization found that children exposed to violent media are three times more likely to exhibit antisocial behavior.
In my view, a synergistic approach is imperative. Parents must be incentivized to spend quality time with their children, while regulatory bodies should enact stringent guidelines on media content. Furthermore, the implementation of community-based programs aimed at fostering positive youth engagement can serve as a panacea for juvenile delinquency.
